Satira (Patricia Schmidt): vintage 8x10 photo
While dancing in Cuba, Satira was arrested for the murder of her then lover John Mee, a wealthy Chicago lawyer. Satira claimed she shot Mee in self-defense, saying she had been held hostage for several days on his yacht. Satira was convicted, but only spent 18 months in a Cuban women’s prison, before being pardoned and allowed to return home to the USA.
